Invalid character error when saving – Anywhere

Troubleshooting for the error “work in progress contact name contains an invalid character” when saving form in Anywhere 

 

The error message would refer to the contact name on the form that will be saved and not the title of the saved form. Sometimes there may be invalid characters on them like spaces either if copy/paste was used when it was filled out or pushed from the CRM.  

Things to check: 

  • Are they using a CRM? If so, which CRM?  
  • Is this happening to all the forms they are saving? Try a different contact from the CRM and save. 

 

Also, there are a few things to check. First, check the client name on the form. If empty, type in data or delete what is current and type in the information. Also, on the top right corner under current contact, does it have the contact name or does it say “NONE” or empty 

 

Alternatively, you can go to the dashboard under active forms then client data, see if you have data on the fields and check if name is valid.  

 

*For testing, you can erase the data and type in manually. There should be an option to erase date on the top left. Try saving the form this time.
