Consumer Authentication Options
DocFast supports several ways to authenticate consumers before they can see their policy. DocFast’s consumer authentication capabilities include:
Consumer Quiz
Consumer quiz is a list of one or more questions provided by the carrier like last 4 digits of SSN or Date of Birth. Carriers configure the questions and answers that should be presented to the client before they are authenticated into the system.
SMS (Text Message) Pin
SMS Pin sends a text message to the consumers cell phone with a unique pin. The Pin is entered by the consumer and authenticates them into the DocFast consumer portal.
Phone Pin
Phone Pin calls the consumers phone and reads back a unique pin. The Pin is entered by the consumer and authenticates them into the DocFast consumer portal.
ID Check (Lexus Nexus)
ID-Check produces a consumer quiz (via LexisNexis) that asks a client for their address and social security number (SSN), and then asks follow up questions based on their answers. Carriers can configure the number of questions that should be presented to a client before they are authenticated into the system.
2 Factor Authentication (2FA)
2 Factor Authentication uses a combination of the Consumer Quiz and SMS Pin or Phone Pin. Once the consumer quiz is completed by the consumer they are prompted to authenticate again using SMS Pin or Voice Pin before signing their document.
