Product Profile Modelling Complex Annuity Strategy

AFFIRM’s PPfA processing supports a custom extension called “Complex Annuity Strategy” to allow Distributors and Carriers to collaborate to more granularly and explicitly tag their PPfAs with a custom attribute.

Some Distributors currently support the following values in the Complex Annuity Strategy field on their PPfAs:

IOVA (Investment Only): “CS” is expected as the text modelled on the PPfA’s ComplexAnnuityStrategy field where “CS” is explicitly indicated (no longer starts with), CS01, CS02 etc. are no longer considered IOVA as of July 2023. Note Morgan Stanley uses a ComplexAnnuityStrategy of “CS01” and Product Type = (10) Variable Annuity to represent those products as Registered Indexed. Additionally, there is a platform-supported product type for Registered Indexed i.e. 1000300056.

SPIA: “SPIA” is expected as the text modelled on the PPfA’s ComplexAnnuityStrategy field.

DIA: “DIA” is expected as the text modelled on the PPfA’s ComplexAnnuityStrategy field.

PPVA: “AI” is expected as the text modelled on the PPfA’s ComplexAnnuityStrategy field.
