AFFIRM Cross Border Sales
Enhance AFFIRM to support the JurisdictionApproval/ContractSitusCaDifferInd modeling in the PPfA/PPfL. Implement business rule to trigger an error on the product tab when this value is set to false and the solicitation state doesn’t match the residence state.
Note the rule triggers from the perspective of the Solicitation State field and if that field has ContractSitusCanDifferInd = false then the error would trigger when the residence state value is different from the solicitation state value.
<JurisdictionApproval id=”_6670f4c9-ced7-402f-bc50-f95f6fe1eeac”>
<Jurisdiction tc=”26″>Massachusetts</Jurisdiction>
<ContractSitusCanDifferInd tc=”0″>False</ContractSitusCanDifferInd>
</JurisdictionApproval>
- This is supported for PPfAs and PPfLs.
- This is supported for PPfAs modeled in ACORD v.2.20 and v 2.37.
Definition: Indicates if a policy may be issued in a state other than the owner’s residence state. Some states restrict or bar issuance of contracts where the issue state and owner address state differ. Some carriers may simply bar issuance if the state restrictions are unmanageable for them.
Added business rule to trigger error on the product tab when this value to set to 0 or false, for a state, i.e. solicitation state cannot be different from resident state. When value is set, the applicable state must be the same for solicitation and residence states.
Annuity Order Entry
A new data validation rule has been implemented to trigger during product selection phase (on “Product” screen) when:
1. “Resident State” and “Solicitation State” are different AND
Note rule triggers from the value in the Solicitation State field, if that state has ContractSitusCanDifferInd = false then the residence state must also be that state.
2. Selected product prohibits cross state border sales
In addition, for scenarios where contract owner is not a person a new data rule may trigger on “Participant Details” screen IF:
1. User enters a residence state for the Annuitant that does not match solicitation/issue state

Life Ticket Entry
A new data validation rule has been implemented to trigger during contract information entry phase (on “Producer” screen) when:
1. “Owner Residence State” and “Contract State” are different AND
2. Selected product prohibits cross state border sales.
